With my experience of Robert, working on my 350 year old Norfolk cottage, and with my business having recently purchased a modern steel industrial unit, I gave him a call, late 2015. Having not worked on steel buildings before, but with me knowing the care he takes, he was still my first choice. I was not disappointed, like our old cottage, he worked with appropriate materials and suppliers, to the point that the newly built steel constructed extension looks like it has been there since day one. Insulation was also a key factor, which he supported with floor, wall and ceiling insulation, winter fuel bills have significantly reduced and again my faith in Robert and his team has been rewarded, and I would not hesitate to use him again, regardless of the building project, in the future.

We purchased our, Grade II listed, 350 year old Norfolk Cottage, back in 2007. Having done plenty of DIY myself, I took one look at the oak beams, the lathe and plaster and thought, no, I need help here. Coupled to the fact that we were applying for planning permission to, not only significantly improve the property, we also wanted to build a large, old barn style garage and so we sought out the advice of our architect and, as luck would have it, he introduced us to Robert!
Instantly likeable, Robert understood what we were driving at. We like simple interiors coupled to traditional Norfolk construction. It worked, during 2008 to 2009 the old roof was replaced, new chimney stack built (I had taken a photo of one I liked), utility extension built, and new double barn/garage built, all in a first class manner.

Since then further landscaping and outbuildings have been built culminating in our final major project in 2017. Living in our motorhome, on our driveway for six months, Robert and his team fully brought the whole interior back to life, releasing its history, oak and boards, previously hidden under improvements made in the 1950s and 1970s. The finished cottage is also modern, fully insulated, with all new plumbing and wiring, with the final bonus of the discovery of the oak beam, over the fire place, so yes, we are pleased with our cottage, and can’t thank Robert and his band of merry men, who worked in a cheerful and diligent way, enough, for the quality of workmanship and the support we received from them over the years. So looking back, over the last 10 years, I very much appreciate the introduction I was given and in turn I can only pass on my full recommendation to anyone wanting to bring out the history of their property, so please, as I did, speak to Robert first.

We have used Mr Mitchells services a number of times in the last couple of years. Most notable was the conversion of the rear portion of the garage to a sound proofed music room, utility room and toilet. He also laid a curved patio area which began at grass level rising up on to a low brick wall due to the slope of the garden. All tasks were carried out to an excellent standard, both on time and with the minimum of disturbance, enhancing the look and fully utilising the space. At our previous property he built a large single storey extension off the dining room, this was out into the south facing garden and provided a spacious comfortable area to relax in. I have recommended his services to numerous friends who have in turn employed him, i would have no hesitation in using him again in the future.

We recently used Robert for an extension and garage conversion. We were very impressed with Robert and his team, the work was carried out to a very high standard, on schedule and in accordance with our plans and design. We would highly recommend Robert.
